Part 1

"Making the Most of Your Digital Camera"

Understanding your controls will give you a photographic edge.

  This class is perfect for anyone who would like to take their camera out of the green mode and take control of the image making process.

Part 2

Evening  Photo Walk

After your classroom session, we will take a walkabout  in the downtown evening light.  We will teach evening , and nighttime photo techniques, we will go over the controls taught in the classroom session.

Part 3

Portfolio review sessions.

Return for a review of the prints you have produced, If you have any questions about images you have struggled with, we will happy to give you more info to help your image making easier.

Third, a photo review, and critique.

 If you've been thinking of setting up a home studio to photograph your artwork, photograph your family members, or if you simply want excellent photos of products to sell on the internet, this educational hour is a solid investment in your photographic future.

   These classes are designed to bring auxiliary lights into your photographic experience. You own a camera and you enjoy using it but you want more control of light than your built in camera flash provides. Our introductory classes will introduce you to auxiliary continuous lighting options. Continuous lighting has evolved dramatically over the past 5 years with the introduction of fluorescent daylight balanced Cool Lights and daylight balanced LED lighting systems. The "hot light" warm color temperatures and production of extreme and dangerous heat levels are a thing of the past.

These classes will present a brief overview of continuous lighting vs. strobe lighting and will cover the advantages and proper techniques for using continuous lighting to get the most out of your photography. In addition to still photography, current cameras feature video which demands continuous lighting. Improve your video recordings as well as your photographs!

Learn what it takes to light a product shot, a still life or macro shot, and of course portraits. Our instruction will introduce you to single and double light setups, the use of reflectors and diffusers, and how to use a diffusion light table. Proper light metering will also be discussed. The portrait lighting class will discuss using a soft box or umbrella and use of reflectors to add warmth to portraits or bounce light into shadows. Understanding the exact angle of reflector placement for appropriate results will be discussed and demonstrated.

These classes will be a demo and overview of the various continuous lighting options available to you.
